The Arch: Natural RARE Ancient Fossilized, Agatized Tampa Bay Coral, 1" x 3 1/2"/ Specimen, Collectible, Natural Coral, Fossilized Coral
The perfect combination of artistic expression and prehistoric life. Some of the finest specimens of agatized coral in the world come from the Tampa Bay, Florida coast. The coral that used to live in the bay for thousands of years, died to a change in the water temperatures and over time, the quartz silica covered the coral creating a hard cast. The coral later dissolved away leaving a hollow agatized geode. Agatized coral has been found in many shapes and colors. No advanced fossil collection exhibiting coral should be without one superb piece from Tampa Bay. From the OLIGOCENE to MIOCENE PERIOD: 30 - 20 million years ago.
This beautiful specimen has both honey-amber colors with white silica through it. Very nice piece and will make great jewelry or a great addition to a collection. One of a kind.
